 As Chief Executive Officer of County Mayo VEC it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Website which outlines details of educational services and activities provided by County Mayo VEC. County Mayo VEC is a Statutory Body set up under the Vocational Education Act 1930 to provide educational services to the community in County Mayo. We provide a lifelong learning service which strives to improve student learning outcomes in an environment which is structured for optimal learning. All our Colleges and Centres welcome individuals who wish to avail of our education provision. We are dedicated to encouraging quality of education and we endeavour to provide as many opportunities as possible for all learners so that they can achieve their educational goals and potential.We aim to nurture careers of excellence and leadership in a system which promotes access, equity and progression in educational provision. Our society must become a learning society in order to meet the requirements of modern living through continuous development and delivery of an educational system that meets the diverse needs of the entire community we serve. Through County Mayo Vocational Education Committee we are ideally placed to become informed of the views of the communities we serve by virtue of the composition of our Committee of publicly elected representatives. County Mayo VEC is committed to working in partnership with all other agencies and bodies including the Department of Education.
